The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is accepting applications for the annual Illinois Biodiversity Field Trip Grant program. Teachers in Illinois may apply until January 31, 2020 for this special nature field trip grant program.
Illinois has a great diversity of natural resources. Taking students on a field trip to see some of them can be a wonderful experience and help incorporate many Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in teaching. It also provides an opportunity for students to study topics that they have discussed in the classroom in a practical setting.
Funding for the program is donated by the Independence Tube Corporation in Bedford Park, the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Foundation in Skokie, and the D. F. and M. T. Grohne Family Foundation in Wilmington.
