Residents from Warrenville who have questions about legislation passed this year in Springfield are invited to join State Representative Grant Wehrli (R-Naperville) for an open topics town hall meeting on Thursday, September 26. The meeting will be held at the Warrenville Municipal Building, located at 28W701 Stafford Place, and will take place from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM. Please use the Stafford Place entrance, as the entrance on Manning Street will be locked.
The meeting will feature a short legislative session update by Wehrli, followed by a question and answer session with audience members. “There was a great deal of legislation approved this year so there will be plenty to discuss,” said Wehrli. “I represent a large portion of Warrenville in the House of Representatives, so I am eager to hear their opinions and feedback and answer their questions.”
According to Wehrli, items to be discussed include the legalization of recreational marijuana, property taxes, the need for comprehensive pension reform, environmental concerns, ethics, and many other issues. He stressed, however, that the bulk of the meeting will be dedicated to Q & A.
“I want to have an engaging conversation with the people of Warrenville, and hope they bring their questions to this open forum,” said Wehrli. “Public participation is important, and it is a tremendous help as I work on behalf of the citizens of the 41st Legislative District in Springfield. As we prepare to return to the Capitol next month for the fall veto session, I am interested in public opinions and feedback on issues that affect the State of Illinois.” For more information about this town hall meeting, please contact the office by phone at (630) 696-4160, or by visiting repwehrli.com.
