State Representative Grant Wehrli (R-Naperville), who has been recognized by the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) for his support of the environment, is co-hosting an Environmental Town Hall Meeting on the campus of North Central College on Saturday, April 13.
Wehrli will partner with State Senator Laura Ellman (D-Naperville) and the IEC for the event, which will take place from 10:00 AM until noon at Stevenson Hall’s Wentz Science Center, 125 S. Loomis Street in Naperville. It will feature a panel of experts, including representatives from the Citizens Utility Board, Elevate Energy, the Sierra Club, the Metropolitan Planning Council, and the City of Naperville.
“Illinois is a leader in clean energy policy,” said Wehrli. “Our laws exceed minimum standards for clean and renewable energy, and we continually strive to embrace new environmental best practices.”
According to Wehrli, the panel will present information regarding a variety of environmental issues, and summaries of current pending legislation that could affect the environment. A question and answer period will also be included as part of the meeting.
“The IEC is the environmental community’s eyes, ears and voice in Springfield, and it is a pleasure to partner with them for this town hall meeting,” Wehrli said. “I invite all people with an interest in the air we breathe and the water we drink to attend this event and learn how, by taking bold steps to protect our environment, our children and grandchildren can enjoy a healthier future.”
